GIMME PiL

Gimme Five is one of the most important UK streetwear lines in history, but I suspect that it was overlooked for a few reasons. Firstly, it was on sale in accounts that held hype product like visvim and Supreme, thus Michael Kopelman’s brand sit in the shadows. Secondly, its distribution was scarce, the line was barely marketed and releases were sporadic. Continue reading GIMME PiL

AMERICAN REBEL

If you’re willing to make the effort (and it’s well worth it), I only just noticed that some of the French documentary, Larry Clark, Great American Rebel is online in pieces. This one-hour 2003 film features plenty of good insight into Clark’s work and it’s the source of the popular making of Kids video on YouTube. Continue reading AMERICAN REBEL

BOOKS FOR CHRISTMAS

awahdodem5

Stores are going to start trying to sell seasonal ephemera in the coming weeks, so why not get prepped for potential Christmas presents? Books are the ultimate excuse to ignore everyone around you for a couple of claustrophobic days of forced jollity, so the news that both Boogie and Quartersnacks have projects dropping this winter is something to be pleased about.
